I am now in Mumbai.  I arrived here last night or more like this morning at 1am.

The flight here was not bad and could even be good if it weren’t for the fact that I have a cold and had such a headache and cough.  My boss’s idea of getting a lot of work done on the long plane ride since I would have nothing to do went out the window.  By the end of the flight, the flight attendants all know what I want to drink…the usual HOT green tea with sugar and lemon.  I need the hot tea to clam my throat or I would be coughing so hard that I couldn’t stop.

First day here so not sure what to do yet.  Since I will be in Mumbai for another week, I plan to do some sightseeing or shopping when I am not working.  I will be working 9 to 5 EST or 6:30pm to 2:30am local time, I expect to have quite sometime to do a bit of activities if I don’t sleep the days away.

This is my second time in Mumbai.  Last time I was here in 2009 but didn’t stay for long so didn’t do too much of anything.  The people were very nice and took us on a late night drive through downtown Mumbai.  I was able to see the Queen’s necklace (the Marine drive), and Gateway of India at night.  Also had tea in the Taj and shopped at the Bombay store.

This time, I like to see the Elephanta Island at least.  The Kamla Nehru park and Hanging Gardens sounds interesting.  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalay (aka The Prince of Wales Museum) is also good to see.  I definitely plan to do some shopping at local markets.  I want to experience the real Mumbai shopping, for local arts and crafts.

Stay tune for more updates…
